Salmon Falls Resort Announces New Management Team Members Led By General Manager Matt Herod



Tempe, Ariz. (May 15, 2017) -- Heavlin Management Company welcomes Matt Herod as the new General Manager at Salmon Falls Resort, an extraordinary full-service waterfront resort in Ketchikan Alaska. Herod is responsible for daily resort operations ranging from fiscal responsibilities to ensuring exceptional guest experience. Located in an area with breathtaking views and known as the epicenter for saltwater Salmon and Halibut fishing, Salmon Falls Resort's first class facility includes 51 guest rooms and a full marina with 10 24' Skagit Orca boats and 19 skiffs.


A 10-year veteran of the Alaskan seasonal hotel industry, Herod ventured from his home state of Arizona to explore the backcountry of Denali National Park. During that first summer he fell in love with the picturesque landscape and the freedom often felt while visiting such a vast and beautiful land.  Herod was born and raised in Prescott, Arizona and is excited to be working for an Arizona-based company.

Additionally, Heavlin also announced the recent appointment of Michael Briggs as Director of Sales. Briggs is charged with increasing bookings sales to the world-renowned resort in addition to forging relationships with individuals and corporations to aid them in their Alaskan excursion travel needs.


Briggs is a native of central California before moving to Los Angeles to try his hand in the music business. Later, while acting as the Promotions Director for a cluster of radio stations in his hometown of Bakersfield, Michael met his wife and the two of them embarked on an adventure together, moving to Ketchikan in 2010. Prior to joining Salmon Falls, he held positions in the Alaskan Sport Fishing Industry and Local CVB.


Owned by Caliber - The Wealth Development Company, Salmon Falls Resort is one of the only full-service waterfront resort properties on Revillagigedo Island. It is located and easily accessed by a beautiful 14 miles drive directly from the airport.
