Fishing Trip Donation Yields $8,000 For United Through Reading
The reality is U.S. military families face physical separation while on duty. There is an organization that offers military service members the incredible opportunity to stay connected and bond through reading. United Through Reading offers military service members the chance to video-record reading books aloud together to their children at home.At the recent 8th Annual Storybook Ball held in Coronado CA, a fishing trip excursion to Caliber - The Wealth Development Company and Heavlin Management Company-owned and operated Salmon Falls Resort in Ketchikan, Alaska raised $8,000 at auction for this worthwhile non-profit.Caliber and HMC are pleased to support the military efforts of the brave men and women defending our country through this donation. More than $250,000 was raised at this event to support the mission to bring bedtime stories home to military children, to connect them with their parent serving from a distance and to encourage those service members to create memories. For parties interested in supporting military families on deployment, please visit www.unitedthroughreading.org.
